Meet the Artist

Madeleine Holme is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer. Her work often takes the form of figurative paintings and illustrations, characterised by strong compositions and playful details. She is equally at home working with digital and traditional media, and sometimes combines the two.

Her work plays with colours, shapes and characters, bringing together a sense of dreaminess and bold expression. Among other projects, she has created album artwork, stage design and tour posters for our very own Per Áki and Kjartan Lauritzen, as well as developing visual identities for music and live performances.

At Balestrand Hotell, you will find a selection of her work, from graphic illustrations to colourful paintings with imaginative motifs. She has also created several pieces specifically for the hotel, including two dragon paintings in the reception area. The motifs draw inspiration from the dragon style that characterises several of Balestrand's historic Swiss style villas.

We are delighted to have Madeleine's work as part of the hotel's art collection, bringing imagination, colour and life to the place.
