TRAVEL BY EXPRESS BOAT FROM BERGEN

We would dare to claim that you will not find many more pleasant boat trips than the express boat from Bergen to Balestrand. Timetables and bookings: www.norled.no.

TRAVEL BY CAR

Bergen – Balestrand: 200 km - about 4 hours.
In summer, the route via Voss and the Vikafjell mountain is at its most beautiful. If the Vikafjell mountain pass is closed, the easiest way to Balestrand is via Knarvik and the Lavik-Oppedal ferry.

Førde – Balestrand: 100 km - about 1 hour 40 min.
In summer you can drive via Gaularfjell, one of the finest mountain passes in the country. In winter, you drive via Høyanger.

Ålesund – Balestrand: 320 km - about 5 hours 30 min.

Oslo – Balestrand:  380 km - 6 hours 30 min.
Drive over the Hemsedalsfjell mountain pass, via the Fodnes-Mannheller ferry and Sogndal and then the Hella-Dragsvik ferry.

Sogndal – Balestrand: 50 km - about 1 hour
Including the Hella-Dragsvik ferry

TRAVEL BY AIR

Widerøe have several flights a day to Førde. From Førde Airport Bringeland, it is 96 km to Balestrand. You can also fly to Sogndal Airport, but then you also need to take the Hella-Dragsvik ferry.
